Emily & John's top 25: couples
I love my wide angle prime lens. It let's me capture the our couple while setting the scene behind/beyond them. I love using the scenery around our couple to define the moment.
When we photograph our couples, I love to use telephoto lenses. It gives me a closer image than Emily's and allows me to capture just the emotion and moment between our couples.
Emily & John's Top 25: People
Most of the time, I do more of the arranging of people during this portion of our wedding day. We love to infuse movement or give people something else to think about, which helps them forget that the camera is there and provides those natural moments.
I like to be a fly on the wall during these portions of the wedding day. Using a telephoto lens, I can capture emotive images without being in people's space. This gives us some natural moments that we love!
Emily & John's Top 25: Details
When it comes to details, I'm definitely more of the stylist between John and me. :) I'll usually take care of the smaller items like rings, stationery, flowers, etc. This plays into my artsy side, and I just love arranging special items beautifully!
Like Emily said, she takes care of the small details. Because my brain loves maps, I'm often drawn to pictures of the venue and the setting. These wide-angle shots, mixed with some of the quiet moments of the bride & groom getting ready, are what I focus on.
Emily & John's Top 25: Night Shots
We just love night shots, and for these, it's a joint effort. We both work at placing the light and framing the picture to get you that last final image of your wedding day!
