The Oaks Wedding

Brittny and Andy had a beautiful wedding celebrated at The Oaks in Cottage Grove. We walked away from this day so filled with joy from spending the day with these two. This celebration of their love was a long time coming, as they met in high school and dated throughout so many of life’s changes along the way. The wedding day was actually our first time meeting Brittny and Andy in person since we didn’t do an engagement session with them, and they welcomed us and made us feel so at home with their sweet warmth and kindness.

We began all of the day’s documentation at their church. Andy saw Brittny for the first time at the aisle, and his face reflected his depth of love for Brittny (with a gleam of joyous tears). During the ceremony, the officiant told of an article he read about a French couple who was celebrating their 81st wedding anniversary. First off, how amazing to even think of spending 81 years with someone (they obviously were blessed with great health)! The article included their advice, which they summarized into three points. Their advice for a long and happy marriage was:

(1) Keep arguments to a minimum,

(2) Eat well, and

(3) Wash it down with a glass of wine!

I loved that little tidbit, and I’m so glad he shared it. 🙂

After Brittny and Andy were officially pronounced husband and wife, the wedding party traveled to the Memorial Union for some beautiful photos. It was the perfect day, with a mixture of sun and clouds; and we loved the images we were able to get with this fun group!

Following that stop, everyone headed to The Oaks for the rest of Andy & Brittny’s wedding day celebration. The rest of the evening was spent enjoying dinner and drinks. We were able to sneak out for the *PERFECT* sunset (I mean, you honestly never know what the weather will give you, but this was amazing), and then watch as these two, their friends, and their families danced the rest of the night away.

Our favorite parts of their wedding day included those sunset photos (obviously – it’s ALWAYS a favorite), how stunning Brittny was ALL day long (and those gorgeous images of her in the hops garden), and watching Andy’s love and admiration toward her. These two are off on the next step of their journey – marriage! Congrats to the new Mr. & Mrs. Behrend!
