The George Milwaukee Wedding

The George Milwaukee Wedding with Skye & Reid

Skye & Reid invited family and friends to The George in Milwaukee to celebrate their beautiful day. Their day was classic and elegant, and even the early October weather played its part.

These two actually met on their first day of college! Skye was visiting a friend in Reid’s dorm, and as she walked past his room, he was hanging up his Green Bay Packer flag! A fast friendship started from there (because grew up a Packers fan too), and they started dating not long after. The years progressed, and their college relationship became even more serious as they graduated and started their careers.

The Proposal

Reid’s perspective:

“Skye had been eyeing rings and mentioning her ring size for months! So I had a pretty good idea of what she liked and what size ring to get her. I wanted to get her something unique as she loves Jewelry and design. I ended up going with a pear shape ring in a platinum setting. It looks so classic and elegant, and I am so happy with my choice (and so is she!). She had told me she didn’t want anyone but us at the proposal. We actually both felt we wanted it to be an intimate moment between us. We were going home (To Wisconsin) for the holidays. I wanted to propose on Christmas Eve (Christmas is both of our favorite holidays besides the 4th of July) so I thought this would be a perfect time. No one had arrived in town yet, so we were alone at our family’s cabin. I put the ring underneath the tree and told her there was a present underneath the tree for her. I got down on one knee and she immediately kissed me and said yes! We opened up some champagne and cherished the moment together (of course then the face-timing of family and friends began!”

Skye’s perspective:

“The proposal was a complete surprise to me! We had talked about marriage and getting engaged sometime soon but I was not expecting it to happen right then and there! I of course was in the process of taking off my nail polish in the bathroom when he asked me to come out into the living room and look underneath the tree. There was a beautiful shiny, red box underneath the tree. I couldn’t believe the moment was here! It is honestly a blur after that but I know he got down on one knee and it was such a special moment in front of the fireplace and Christmas tree. It was perfect and simple (very us!). We popped some bubbly and enjoyed the moment just us two! Then of course I had to facetime my mom and sister, who screamed for about 5 minutes they were so excited!”
